Our Family
Janet grew up on a dairy and livestock farm in rural southeastern Connecticut. The Hagen Farm provided many wholesome experiences for generations of friends and family. It still is a farm owned by the Hagen family that is characterized by scenic beauty, simple living and quiet serenity.
When we moved to upstate New York over 25 years ago, we hoped to secure a small piece of the Hagen Farm for ourselves, albeit 300 miles away from the original. In the fall of 2021, the perfect location became available at 7700 Munson Road in Sodus, NY. We just fell in love with the five acres of land, the hundreds of apple trees, the two red barns, the close proximity to Lake Ontario (half a mile), and of course, the Federalist style farmhouse. We saw this property as our way to experience the beauty, lifestyle and serenity that we experience on the Hagen Farm in Connecticut.
Best of all, our three kids and their families were all in on this Update New York Farm idea. It was their idea to name our new property Hagen Acres. While Janet and Mike loved the Hagen Farm in Connecticut, we did not appreciate how much that farm meant to their children. We had to name our new property Hagen Acres.

Hagen Acres has become a labor of love for our extended family. Hagen Acres is something we all work on together. Whether we are talking about the newly planted Christmas trees, the flower garden, the firepit, the pig roasting pit, the yard games, small music events or the various community events we have planned, all these ideas come from our family.
We are passionate about Hagen Acres because we want you to experience the scenic beauty, simple living and quiet serenity that is readily available. What’s more, we hope experiences like those found at Hagen Acres help to build healthier and stronger families and communities. Please visit us. You will be welcomed and restored.
